The title «The Next Global Hot Thing» is about the near global future. Which are the groundbreaking, most disruptive projects and emerging start-ups? During a year-long scouting, the most promising digital approaches are searched and proposed for the award.

Ated – ICT Ticino

Ated was founded 1971 in Lugano. It promotes the use of new information and communication technologies and promotes professional ethics among operators in the sector, thereby actively contributing to the development of the cantonal economy. The association has long been collaborating with the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI), the Scuola universitaria professionala della Svizzera italiana (SUPSI) and the School of Management Computer Science (SSIG) to promote the training of its members.


ETH Zürich – Entrepreneurship

ETH Zurich supports potential company founders who want to further develop their research in an application-oriented manner and bring it to market. For this purpose, ETH Zurich provides various financial support and offers advice.


Universität St. Gallen – Startup@HSG

Becoming an entrepreneur – another career perspective for students of the University of St.Gallen. Startup@HSG is the central point for entrepreneurship at the HSG.



The Swiss ICT Investor Club (SICTIC) is a non-profit association established in 2014 that connects smart money investors to Swiss early-stage tech startups. SICTIC organizes the deal flow and matchmaking of startups and investors, and facilitates the process until the investment round closes, with an aim to grow the quantity and quality of local seed stage investments. However, SICTIC does not invest itself nor does it hold shares in startups.


Blockchain Competition

Since the first edition in 2017, inacta AG launched together with Lakeside Partners two next Blockchain Competitions – one for finance and the other for real estate. Every half a year a new competition is started with the goal to find the best blockchain based project for a specific industry. In the first edition 117 startups applied. The candidates are qualified by blockchain experts and our fellow industry partners of the blockchain competition. The winner of each competition gets US$ 100’000 in cash with no strings attached, one year free office space in the Crypto Valley Labs and one year free coaching. Since this year the jury of the blockchain competition will nominate the best candidates for the invitation only “Next Global Hot Thing” award from swissICT.


Impact Hub Zürich

Impact Hub Zurich is an entrepreneurial community with over 950 innovators, startups and large companies, who come together to shape a fundamentally collaborative and cooperative future. Impact Hub Zurich is part of a worldwide network of over 100 Impact Hubs, among others - in Berlin, London and San Francisco. In Zurich, Impact Hub currently manages four spaces locations: Colab - Sihlquai, the Bogen D&E- Viadukt, Garage - in Geroldstrasse and Kraftwerk - in the former ewz substation in Selnau. The Kraftwerk was built in collaboration with the three partners ewz, digitalswitzerland and Engagement Migros.
