Next Global Hot Thing
Short description
mimic robotics is a spin-off from ETH Zurich that is revolutionising automation with dexterous robot stations supported by AI. Our technology enables robots to perform complex tasks in unstructured environments and address labour shortages in logistics, manufacturing, assembly and inspection. Unlike traditional rigid automation, mimic's humanoid robotic hands offer adaptability and seamless integration into human workspaces, eliminating the need for costly infrastructure changes. We develop foundational AI models trained on extensive human and robotic data, enabling our robots to learn new tasks through demonstration, ensuring rapid deployment. Our solutions reduce operating costs, improve workplace safety and increase efficiency in repetitive, ergonomically demanding tasks. mimic is backed by leading venture capital firms, global industry partners and scientific advisors, and is scaling towards large-scale industrial deployment.
Jury Statement
mimic uses physical AI to scale the automation of repetitive manufacturing tasks. Mimic develops AI foundation models that are trained using large amounts of human and robotic data. This allows their robots to learn new tasks through demonstrations, ensuring rapid deployment. The jury has been impressed by the originality and scalability of their methodology, the speed of their development, their focus, and their capability to attract collaboration from large corporations, as well as consistent venture investments. We believe that their robots' rapid enablement method could be 'the next hot thing' in the digital economy.
