ICT Education & Training
Short description
Training in ICT is a priority at Suva and is based on six pillars:
• early awareness raising
• inclusive selection
• sound training
• continuous specialisation
• practical experience
• easier entry into the profession
Suva has been committed to promoting young talent in the ICT sector for many years and is currently training 26 IT apprentices. With 230 employees in the IT department, this corresponds to a good ratio of 1:9.
We focus on people and strive for inclusive promotion. This means that young people of all genders and with rather atypical career paths can find training in the ICT sector with us. We also offer internships and training places for interns and working students.
For us, sustainability is not just a buzzword. Stefan Scherrer, Head of the ICT Department, encourages and motivates young talent to stay at Suva and in the economic region of Central Switzerland. Our additional involvement in the ICT Central Switzerland Association (chairmanship) underlines this commitment.
In short, Suva invests sustainably in ICT training. These six pillars form a solid foundation for the development of young talent with a holistic, flexible and future-oriented approach that is supported by senior management.
Jury Statement
Suva has proactively and comprehensively adapted its training model to the current challenges of ICT. Trainees are integrated into all areas of the business in an unconventional way and are given out-of-the-box opportunities to learn about a variety of working methods. The jury commends this modern training concept, which combines inclusion, innovation and regionality with the classic tasks of public administration in a unique environment.
